Braided Redhead from the Smear Paintings series was selected for the juried Member Show, Gather conducted by The Copley Society of Art, Boston. The guest juror was the award-winning pastel artist, author and educator Liz Haywood-Sullivan.
This piece is mixed media – glass, food pigment, paper, light – ephemeral ensemble captured in 2D.
What you see is what I saw. I believe in creating in real-time, not after the fact. The photo is minimally processed, and I do not use HDR photography, focus stacking, and generative AI.
Braided Redhead is an edition of one, the original, not a giclée, and no copies will be printed. It is printed by me on canvas using pigment inks. Shown below is a snapshot of the 24 x 35” wood-framed artwork.
